Who we are?

Our guest house is located on a hill in the most eastern part of Italian Istria, in a quiet residential area, which is oriented South, so it is very sunny. Therefore, it’s pleasant to rest in the grapevine and fruit trees shadow, enveloped from the sage, lavender and rosemary scent!

Love for the Earth has been handed down from the grandfather Alberto, who was a pastry chef in Vienna, and from grandfather Vincenzo, an expert carpenter. This love brought us to preserve the adjacent vineyard with care and dedication. Some carpentry artifacts could be admired still today inside the three apartments, as in the common area: here they are exhibited some old tools of the trade, next to the large worktable, which has been made by grandfather Vincenzo’s hands and then used by father Roberto’s able work.

The house has been restored to create this place, a corner of peace where the familiar roots are still strong, and they spread thanks to the attention for the details.

The surroundings

And now… after waking up to the birds singing and having breakfast looking out the window, with a view on the hill, otherwise on the balcony or in the garden, surrounded by the light and by the aromatic herb scents… what to do?
There are many choices: Muggia, the small “Istria-Venetian” city, with its castle, its streets and its ancient Church above the hill, which is four kilometers away from the house.

During the summer you could enjoy a dive or a walk along the seafront, otherwise, you could cross the border in a few minutes by car, and find yourself in Slovenia and then in Croatia, where nature, beaches, ancient cities and traditional villages – Buie, Montona, Rovigno, Parenzo – offer fascinating spots and wide landscapes of sea and hills, unique and pure.

The suggestive path in the Noghere valley is very close, with its ponds sprinkled by different lake flora and fauna species.

Not far away, there is the beautiful Val Rosandra natural reserve. The area is unique for its geological characteristics (scattered of caves) and for its distinctive flora of the “karst moor”: one of the widest floral varieties in the world joined in a singular habitat.

Here the stream has dug in the white limestone sources of crystal-clear water and a spectacular waterfall, 35 meters long. They are reachable by a panoramic stroll that runs along the ancient Roman water main, come from the II century b.C.

You could think of a climbing on the rock faces that were the Emilio Comici’s practice walls. He was the first rock climbing school founder, and he took his first steps on the sides of the mountains. Otherwise, you could think of a bike ride across the valley, along the ancient railway that was used to be the Trieste and Pula connection. In a few minutes it’s possible to reach the well-known cycle touristic itinerary: the “Parenzana”.
And then… Trieste!

It is a city that needs no introduction, and it stands out facing the gulf with its famous “piazza Unità”. It is surrounded by the tree-filled Carso little hills.

For those who love the sea, you can easily get to the famous “piazza Unità” by a fascinating crossing with the “Delfino Verde”, a pleasure touristic ferry-boat. Thus, there’s no need to use your car and then comfortably visit the city.
